Taps

I think I may have felt movement for the first time today. Keyword here is "think" because it could very well be gas or the workings of my GI tract. But, I am not totally convinced that it wasn't my little Sunshine saying hello.

It felt like two little taps, in the center of my abdomen, about 2-3 inches below my bellybutton. Tap, tap. And then it was gone. I've tried to stay still and feel but all I can feel now is my own pulse.

I've been told that early movement feels like butterfly wings, or flutters. But this didn't feel like that at all. It felt just like a tiny touch from the inside. A bit surprising but it made me giddy immediately.

It's moments like this where I fall in love all over again.

Hey ya know thats what i felt at about 17 weeks ish - like i was being touched from the inside out. I bet it was sunshine!! Grats to you- i count this!

I have to say I never felt "flutters" per se....mine were always more like taps too.

I hope it was your sunshine...and you feel lots more very soon.

Hey, I bet you're feeling the baby. What you describe is exactly what I felt around 17 weeks, but didn't know what it was until it became stronger and more frequent.

That sounds right -- it is so hard to explain, isn't it? I totally feels like someone is touching you from the inside. So excited for you! Hopefully it will get more frequent soon.

With Megan, it felt a little like taps. I actually described it as if a goldfish was bumping into the side of one of those plastic bags that you carry them home in. Sort of like a light "bonk."

I'm so thrilled that things are going well!!

yep, i never felt flutters either. It was exactly as you described.. taps. What time did it happen? Focus at the same time tomorrow b/c you might feel it again.

I felt Will tap, then kick, then roll just about every day at 3:00 p.m.. (of course sometimes he'd be a few minutes late or early) It was cool and so consistent that when he was born, i was really anxious to see what he'd do at 3:00..

Isn't it awesome...I'm sure it was little sunshine...I remember the first time I 'thought' I felt Baby B (Jolie)...it felt like a karate chop inside and then nothing...it was weird...but I totally loved it...the best is yet to come, I miss feeling her in my tummy!!!

Very cool!

Congrats on feeling your little Sunshine. :) I get a little annoyed with the constant questions about feeling flutters and/or gas bubbles because it doesn't feel anything like that to me. I think 'taps' is a great way to describe the wonderful feeling!

Oh, how exciting! I thought I felt something tapping the other night, too, but everything I read says twelve weeks (or the thirteen that the baby is measuring) is too early. I can't wait for a few more weeks to go by so that I call for SURE!

Congratulations to you and Sunshine!

That's EXACTLY how I described it! You are feeling the little one say hello!

I bet it is your little one saying hi.

I can't explain what my first movements felt like, only that once I felt them more often, I knew that's what I was feeling the whole time.

I never got any flutters either... mine were always taps. :D

Sounds like movement to me. When I first felt Lemy it was more like a goldfish was swimming in my tummy. Then I got a couple of pokes and a kick. Now I feel her squirm and kick almost daily and I LOVE EVERY SECOND.

Enjoy! And Congrats! :)

I can't wait to feel movement, I think it will make it seem like it's actually happening.

Here's to many more taps from your little one,
