One Hurdle Down *UPDATE*

One beautiful baby, measuring a day ahead at 6w5d.

With a beautiful heartbeat, beating at 120bpm. I could look at that beautiful pulse all day.

I have exhaled a little but I know this is the first hurdle of many. After all, we've been here before and things still turned out badly. I'd be lying if I said I wasn't secretly delighted though.

They took one more beta/progesterone check so I will update with those results when I get them this afternoon. Hopefully, the P4 will be much higher and I can relax about that as well.

Despite my begging and pleading for a repeat ultrasound in 2 weeks, the RE dismissed me to my OB. So, I am officially graduated and left to wander among the land of the fertiles (gasp!). I don't know how I will manage but I hope the OB will decide to take another peek before 12 weeks. We have a doppler (thanks be to MIL from her stint as a prenatal nurse) so we plan to break it out around 9 weeks and see if we can hear what we were never able to hear before.

Stay strong, Sunshine. You have so many people who would love to meet you next summer.

P.S. Sorry for the crap photo. Our scanner is out of commission so I did the best I could with our camera. Maybe DH can do a better job when he gets home.

***Update*** New beta at 32dpo is 42,000+. P4 is 26+. I've been instructed to continue the supplements until 1/22/08. Looking good!

FANTASTIC!!! I love the piccy.

As for the doppler be ready for it to be difficult around that time. My docs office wouldn't even try the doppler on me until 13 weeks. That being said if you do listen that early I hope you hear the most delightful sound!!!!

CONGRATS!!!

that's SUCH great news, Kristen. i'm so happy for you.

i also just want to second what M said about the doppler @ 9 weeks. it might be really hard to hear anything at that point and i don't want it to needlessly stress you out. my docs wouldn't touch my tummy with one until 12-13 weeks.

go sunshine, go!

wooo hooo sounds great! I bet that you can convince your ob's office to do a scan. I did. I played the part of a neuratic ifertile pregnanct lady! I didn't have much acting skills involved as all emotions were real ;)

I am so happy for you! Getting this far makes everything so much less risky - plus you know that first pregnancy miscarriage is VERY common (speaking from experience too here). So please don't let pg #1 overshadow this one. It is completely different. BEST OF LUCK TO YOU!!!
