A few months ago, some of the girls on my LP message boards decided that we had had enough of IF getting us down. We were sick of stuffing our faces with junk food and taking our frustrations out on our bodies. Bottom line: we needed a healthy method of cheering up.
One of my dearest online buddies came up with the fabulous idea of a "mix-tape chain mail". Similar to Mel's distractions, there were 4 CD's of music that would take us away from the stress of TTC. We would mail the 4 CD's in rotation - burning each CD and then sending off to the next person on the list.
Well, I just got my first CD today! Just in time for the holiday and in the 2ww no less. I'm not yet sure if it will stop my binging of sweets but it's a good way to begin. I am happy that I haven't heard the vast majority of songs. Maybe I will find some new favorites.

I think something creative is a good form of therapy. It can span from painting, to scrapbooking, to wrapping gifts (my personal favorite).
Just looking at the list, I luv Tiny Dancer. I might even like the Tim McGraw remake of a few years ago better than the original (gasp!).
My therapy is working on my house - painting specifically. My husband is starting to groan every time I break out the paint swatches though, so I'm going to have to pick up a new form of therapy!
I'm a Motown girl so for me it's the Jayhawks and "I'm gonna make you love me..."
Music IS therapy for me. It's transformative in so many ways.
The Beatles ones are my favorite: I love Aimee Mann, but that is not one of my favorite songs of hers (though it's good - all of hers are). I love music too, I listen to it all the time.
I like music for when I am really sad. I play the piano and just belt along with the songs, cry a little, and feel better. Two that I really like are My Immortal by Evanescence and Billy Joel Lullably.
As far as other forms of therpay, I like working outside when I can. There is something about working in the dirt or planting flowers.
