We Have A Smiley

Before you read on, be sure to pay a visit to LJ. She just got a negative beta after her first IVF cycle. It is possible it is too early but she could use some hugs while she waits for the final verdict.

On Monday, my 2 follies had both grown enough to get my trigger. Righty was a good bit bigger but Lefty is still a viable backup. That trigger shot is something. It looks HUGE but when it gets shoved in my ass cheek, I barely feel it. Those are one of the few times I'm actually thankful I've got some junk in the trunk.

I got a smiley face yesterday and this morning on my OPKs. How I love those digital symbols of happiness. I had some bad O pains yesterday but since my temp didn't go up today, I'm expecting today will be the day.

We've gotten a week's worth of BDing under our belt and well...I'm sore. Don't get me wrong - I love sex with my husband. But I'm just tired of it right now. The first few days aren't so bad and we flashback to when we were on our honeymoon - minus the beautiful Caribbean weather. We would feel refreshed and rejuvenated after our twenty minutes in ecstasy and we would enjoy each other's bodies. But now, on day 8 of Sexapalooza, it's to the point where we just go through the motions. I don't really moan or writhe unless it is to help DH along. And I can pretty much forget getting my Big O. I'm just not into it, despite DH's valiant efforts. Hopefully, that won't hinder our baby-making attempts. We're using PreSeed just in case.

If I do ovulate today, I'll be testing right around Halloween. How spooky! I figure if I get a BFN, I'll just eat a buttload of candy and have a drink or two. Or three. Or four. Or more. And if I get a BFP...well, the pregnant lady costume will be the best one yet.

My longest bonkathon was two weeks.

Man, we got so 'get-it-in-and-get-it-the-hell-out-FAST' about it.

I too love my husband, but there are limits :)

Here's lots of hope coming your way - and I have to say, be glad your man is in his 20s and not 42. Two days in a row is a LOT for us. Anyway - sounds like the soldiers are lined up and ready! :-)

I am definitely hoping for the preggie costume for you. I hear you about the sex-a-thon too. I can remember nights where I would just have to remind us that we needed to suck it up and take one for the team. At least we can laugh about it now. And one of the best things about IVF is that you don't (can't, actually) have a sex-a-thon. We ought to be pretty ready by the time the next opportunity comes along, whether it be in a week and a half, or 10 weeks, depending upon how Saturday's beta goes.

Go follies go!

I always thought that it would be fun, while prego, to dress up like a pumpkin. Or you could go the Heidi Klum route and be an apple. Heck, any spherical object would do.

Go follies!
The sexapalooza thing - I don't think I have the energy for that anymore. 8 days in a row - whew! Just hearing about it makes me tired.
I hope you get that great costume too.

This is fabulous news-I so hope this is the cycle for you.
Husband and I haven't even touched either this month since I found out I wasn't going to ovulate. It's pathetic, huh? Baby making sex for the past year has ruined it for us! Fertiles don't understand in the slightest.

It does get a little much sometimes--and being sore is not fun.
Hope all the BDing will pay off though!

3 cheers for your follies!!! Keeping my fingers crossed that Sexaplooza is a HUGE success!!!

Keeping everything crossed for you! If you get a BFP you'll have to call the baby Goblin or something like that while its in utero!

Just wanted to wish you luck on this cycle and glad things are looking good so far. I remember those sexathon days... they were no fun.

Oh yes, have been there with the sex-a-thon....If you asked the 20 year-old me if I every thought sex would be boring or mechanical I would have been like no way, never happen to me....
Well, BPN or BFP are both good reasons to partake in the snickers, resse's, M&M's, payday, crunch bar...(darn diet is makin me hungry) halloween fun.

Good luck! Good luck!! Good luck!!! I hope that the combination of that digital smiley and all your extracurricular activities land you the bfp that you deserve!

I love geohde's term 'bonkathon' -- I actually MISS that -- my husband's taken to referring to masturbation as 'procreating' -- HAH.

I enjoy your posts --and really thank you for all your kind words and thoughts.

Here's to Halloween and a pregnant lady costume!

Just wanted to stop in and say thank you for coming by to support me during this really bad month I have had. It really means the world to me to have friends out there that really understand what I am going through. I don't know how I would make it without you all. Thanks again.

Oh and GOOD LUCK!!

I ~love~ taking opks after my triggers because I ~love~ how dark the hCG makes those opks. Maybe I should pick up some smiley one, just to make it a bit happier!

I always read how pregnancy can be detected using OPKs and it took my experience with the trigger to actually look it up and see the science behind it.

So - this was 2 days ago, here's to hoping those spermies found their target and you get a spooky surprise!!! :) :) :)

K said...

Ugh. I hear you on the triggers. I never had problems with them until Friday. i can't even lay on my right side now.

Good luck and here's hoping for that Halloween surprise!
